  • Paul Moran B App Sci, Dip FP, MBA, M Tax & Fin Planning CFP™ SSA®


    Paul is a principal of Moran Howlett Financial Planning with extensive industry experience.He has been a Lecturer in Financial Planning with Securities Institute of Australia, FINSIA and Kaplan for over 13 years. He has been awarded two professional designations - Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and SMSF Specialist Adviser SSA®)

    He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (RMIT), Associate Diploma of Health Science (AOTC), Diploma of Financial Planning (Deakin University) and Master of Business Administration (Deakin University). Paul also holds a Master of Taxation and Financial Planning (University of New South Wales) and is currently a Doctoral student at Victoria University, where his thesis is focused on financial decision making.

    He was awarded both the Victorian and Australian ‘Independent Financial Adviser Magazine’ Financial Planner of the Year for 2004, is a Securities Institute Practitioner Award Winner, and a member of the AFR Smart Investor Top 50 Financial Planning Master-Class for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2012.

    Paul is regularly quoted in the Australian Financial Review, The Australian, The Melbourne Herald-Sun, The Melbourne Age and Sydney Morning Herald. he appears on Sky Business Your Money Your Call (Retirement).

    Paul specialises in superannuation, pre and post-retirement planning and pension management. He is widely recognised for his skills in understanding clients real needs.

  • Cameron Howlett DipFP, BBus/BComp, CFP™ SSA®, Registered Tax Agent


    Cameron is a principal of Moran Howlett Financial Planning and is passionate about quality fee for service financial planning advice and believes good quality advice does make a significant difference to his clients wealth and wellbeing. Having helped his clients reach some of their personal and financial goals, he believes the most important part of financial planning is to work with his clients as a wealth partner. Cameron specialises in working with people both pre and post retirement as well as clients in the wealth creation phase.

    He believes a large part of his role "to give advice and direction, but also to establish what it is clients want from their life. For example, is it a stable income stream in retirement, enough money to spend 6 months travelling every 4 years, or pay for the kids education. He then works with his clients to coach and direct them so they can reach these goals."

    Cameron is a Certified Financial Planner, an accredited SMSF Specialist Advisor™ and a Registered Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board of Australia, whilst he has been on the Financial Planning Associations CFP Board Committee.

    Cameron is the "2015 National Investment Adviser of the Year"  awarded by the Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) Magazine, whilst also being a finalist in the 2015 SMSF Adviser of the Year. He was nominated again in 2016 as a finalist for SMSF Adviser of the Year as well as Investment Adviser of the Year, whilst again in 2017 for SMSF Adviser of the Year.

    Cameron writes and is quoted regularly on Financial Planning issues in the Age, Australian Financial Review, The Australian & the Herald Sun and has been profiled twice in BRW Magazine.


  • Chris Haggart MAppFin, BSc. BtCB, Dip FP

    Chris joined Moran Howlett Financial Planning in 2016 after having previously established his own financial planning business. Prior to this Chris worked with an independent licensee, guiding other financial planners around Australia on how to provide the best strategic and investment advice to their clients. Chris brings this knowledge and experience with him, and is passionate about achieving his clients financial and lifestyle goals.

    He holds a Bachelor of Biotechnology and Cell Biology (La Trobe), a Diploma of Financial Planning (Mentor Education) and has completed his Masters in Applied Finance (Macquarie University). Chris has a strong focus on investment management and believes that this plays a major role in creating greater lifestyle choices for his clients. 

    Chris specialises in strategic superannuation and investment advice for clients that are both pre and post-retirement.    

  • Alex Hont B Bus (Financial Planning), Life Risk Specialist, CFP™


    Alex joined Paul Moran Financial Planning (now Moran Howlett Financial Planning) in 2007 in a para-planning role developing detailed financial plans for clients, and managing subsequent administration to help ensure a smooth implementation process.

    He has been providing personal advice to clients since becoming an Authorised Representative in April 2011

    Alex actively seeks to assist families and individuals with the ‘accumulation’ stages of their lives. He offers a holistic goals focused approach to financial planning with a specialization in cash flow planning and management, and personal insurance. Alex is deeply committed to assisting clients fulfill their financial and lifestyle objectives and guide them through the wealth creation process.

    He has a comprehensive understanding of investment principles and is an expert in cash flow modelling to help his clients really understand where their money goes.

    Alex holds a Bachelor of Business from La Trobe University with a double major in Financial Management and Financial Planning. He has been awarded two professional designations - Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) &  LRS® Life Risk Specialist accreditation program with the FPA.
